The Record Breaker - Short Film

Posted by Lee Goldup on November 29, 2013

The Record Breaker tells the story of Ashrita Furman, the man who holds more Guinness World Records than anyone else. The health food store owner from Queens, New York has set over 350 world records to date. Many of which are completely ridiculous and pretty damn bizarre. Filmmaker Brian McGinn tells his story beautifully.

Winner of the Vimeo Audience Award at the 2013 Full Frame Documentary Film Festival and Jury Prizes at the 2012 Palm Springs International ShortsFest and the 2013 New Orleans Film Festival, The Record Breaker follows Furman as he trains to set a new record: climbing Machu Picchu on stilts.

His records include the likes of hula-hooping with a massive hoop, upside-down juggling and ultimately his best: blowing a stamp whilst carrying a sloth. Yep you read that correctly!
