Doin' It In The Park is a new documentary directed by Kevin Couliau and Bobbito Garcia that explores the history, culture and social impact of New York's summer basketball scene. Widely recognised as the worldwide "Mecca" of the sport, the 700 plus outdoor courts attract an estimated half a million players, who treat pick-up basketball as not just a sport, but a way of life. "You can play high school or college for four years. You can play Pro for a decade. You can play pick-up ... for life."

Co-directors Bobbito Garcia and Kevin Couliau visited 180 courts throughout NYC's five boroughs to create their debut documentary. Travelling to many of the locations by bicycle, carrying equipment in backpacks they manage to capture a real sense of this urban scene, that is undoubtably one of American's most popular free recreations.
