Saucony was founded in 1898 on the banks of the Saucony Creek in Kutztown, Pennsylvania. They initially made shoes for children and walking shoes for adults before venturing into running shoes. By the 1930's they were producing ice skates, bowling shoes, roller skates and baseball shoes.
Fast forward to 1977 where an editor from a nationally distributed US running magazine got his hands on a pair of Saucony shoes and the magazine awarded them with their "Best Quality" rating. This attention helped the brand become a household name among runners all over America, with them becoming very sought after.
In 1981 Saucony released the Jazz Original, which has been the brands most popular and successful shoe to date. Since then the brand have released the shoe in a number of colourways and gone on to add the likes of the Shadow Original, Master Control and the Grid to name a few.
