A piece of history has been uncovered with the discovering of the thought to be lost forever collection of digital artwork created by Andy Warhol. They were recently uncovered by Carnegie Mellon University’s Computer Club at the archives of The Andy Warhol Museum. The club has documented the recovery of the works with a short film entitled “Trapped: Andy Warhol’s Amiga Experiments” which is the latest installment from the Hillman Photography Initiative. “Trapped” shows the team of computer scientists, archivists, artists and curators working tirelessly to extract the individual files from the archaic 3.5” floppy disk. Check out the short documentary below to see their efforts and Warhol’s work in more depth.
