Founded in 1931 by Ed Viberg, the Canadian company is now in its 3rd generation and is still entirely family owned and operated. Viberg use traditional manufacturing methods and only the best materials sourced from around the world: brass tacks from England, heavyweight insoles from Spain, Vibram outsoles and the finest upper leathers from renowned tanneries in the USA and Italy. There are over 200 steps that go into producing a pair of Viberg boots and all of them are performed in their own facility by skilled craftspeople.
The Viberg Service Boot is an updated interpretation of the original Viberg work boot, designed by their founder Edwin Viberg in 1931. A similar pattern was used by multiple nations as a standard issue military boot during WWII. This features a CF Stead Classic Calf Leather which will age fantastically as the years go on, on a Dainite sole unit. This Boot also features 5 eyelets and 4 hooks.
Britain's C.F. Stead has been producing some of the finest leathers in the world for over a century. Their smooth full grain Classic Calf offers a slightly more formal option while still being distinct from traditional dress leathers and durable enough to wear in any conditions. While Viberg choose to celebrate the natural grain and character of the leather, it is also easily burnishable for those looking for a more formal look. With a classic gloss finish and visibly subtle grain, we believe it to be some of the highest quality calfskin available and excellently suited to footwear.
