The story of the Detroit Stars 1959 Ballcap started after the demise of the Negro American League. In the years following the integration of the majors, the Detroit Stars continued to play as an independent club. One fun fact about the team is the Stars called Hamtramck Stadium home, a ballpark that is one of the few remaining Negro league structures standing, and is currently slated to be renovated.
