All of the USA’s teams were “represented” by foreign football squads in 1967. The Boston Rovers were Ireland’s Shamrock Rovers F.C., based in South Dublin. Leading scorer for the Rovers was Frank O’Neill, who also played for the Republic of Ireland’s national team. The Rovers played home matches at Manning Bowl in nearby Lynn, Mass.
