In the early 1960s, Pendleton shirts hit the airwaves courtesy of the Majorettes, whose song “White Levis” became a number one hit in 1963. But before that, a group called The Pendletones was singing about the California surfing scene. They changed their name to the Beach Boys, but kept their uniform of Pendleton shirts worn over tee shirts with khakis. The Pendleton Board Shirt was named by this era worn because it kept you warm when you were in the water, and stylish when out of it.

Pendleton is the original surf shirt. Worn by many cultures over the years, we are huge lovers of this style here at The Great Divide.
