Robin graduated from a Photography BA at London Collage of Communication in 2007.
Since then his personal practice has continued to observe the appropriation of landscape, questioning what is understood as a ‘beautiful’. Incorporating banality and romanticism represented through a deadpan aesthetic.
With ideologies, religions and societies’ understanding of beauty being in constant flux, we can gaze, as a viewer, into the cracks whilst continuing to fetishize human’s mastery over industry and the landscape. The romantics’ waterfalls, sunsets and rolling hills were replaced by shopping centres, apartment blocks, land fill sites and regeneration centres. The once subscribed feeling of sublime and awe is now replaced by global anxiety and desire.
