Founded in 1988, Ebbets Field Flannels have become renowned for their ability to manufacture exact replicas of genuine mid-Century American sportswear apparel. Inspired by lesser-known independent league teams and dedicated to using original materials and techniques, Ebbets Field Flannels are committed to staying faithful to original designs and have grown to become the finest producer of vintage American baseball attire.
The Ebbets Field Flannels Chicago Whales Clubhouse Shirt is inspired by the clubhouse shirts worn by baseball teams. Made using a vintage, soft 4.4 ounce tri blend, it's got a crew neck which matches with the contrast sleeve, and is Made in the USA. It's story comes from the 1915 Ballcap, where theChiFeds were christened the "Whales" in what was their third season. Owner Charles Weeghman was determined to outdo the rival Cubs and White Sox, and built a state-of-the-art ballpark on the North Side named after himself (of course). In the settlement that ended the Federal League, Weeghman was allowed to purchase the Cubs and move them into his ballpark, eventually re-named Wrigley Field. The Whales brought the FL pennant home in 1915, the Feds' last season.
