In 1909 Thomas L.Kay and his family moved to Pendleton in northeastern Oregon and took over the defunct Pendleton Woolen Mills and started there business there. Since then Pendleton has become renowned for their Native American inspired blanket designs and durable woollen shirts. Today the company is still owned by the family and all blankets are proudly made in Pendleton, Oregon.

These Pendleton blankets are robe size, which is the size preferred by Native Americans for ceremonial purposes and wrapping about oneself as a robe. These blankets fit perfectly over a double bed, can be used for wall hangings or just for cuddling up on the sofa.

Tuscon

The Tucson area was originally home to the Akimel O'otham or Pima tribe. A Pima legend says that in thebeginning there was darkness, from which Creator emerged. He pulled a magic stick from his heart and formed a ball with its resin that grew into the Earth as he sang, “I make the world, and see, the world is finished...let it go, start it forth!” In this pattern, the magical creation stick helps bring the Earth, Stars, Moon and Sun from the darkness.
