Red Wing was founded in 1905 by Charles Beckman in Red Wing, Minnesota. Mr Beckman saw a need for shoes specifically designed for the demanding work of the local industries such as mining, logging and farming. His aim was to make hardwearing durable footwear, that was also comfortable to wear.
The Rover is a boot born from a legacy of long days in factories and fields. Named in honor of early 20th-century cotton mill machine operators, or “Rovers”, the Rover is a lifestyle boot inspired by a hard-working pedigree. The 6-inch boot is extremely comfortable, thanks to its legendary Cushion Crepe shock-absorbing sole, first used by Red Wing in 1952.
